At CERDAF every initiative is more than infrastructure; it is a promise of dignity, equity, and opportunity. The recent project “Comfort for Learning: Equipping CERDAF’s Library and Cultural Center with Armrest Chairs” has transformed our spaces into true sanctuaries of study and cultural growth.
Indeed, for too long, many of our learners, students, researchers, and vulnerable youth, had to study outside or under shade due to limited furniture. Today, thanks to the generosity of the Diocese of Münster and the solidarity of friends and local contributors, 200 strong and comfortable armrest chairs have been installed in our library and cultural center.

As a result of their installation, it is now certain that over 500 learners annually will benefit from dignified seating. Attendance has already increased, satisfaction is higher, and CERDAF’s reputation as a holistic hub for education and culture has been strengthened. In a city marked by displacement and socio‑economic instability, these chairs symbolize stability
and care.
Furthermore, it is apt to state that this project is a modest yet powerful step toward educational equity in Bukavu. It shows that CERDAF takes seriously the studies, well‑being, and future of its youth. By providing comfort and inclusivity, we are not only
urnishing a library — we are furnishing hope, identity, and success for generations to come.
We, therefore, extend heartfelt gratitude to the Diocese of Münster, our benefactors, and all who contributed. Your support has given our youth a clear path to success, proving once again that small acts of solidarity can yield transformative change.
